Days in Copenhagen.

Night shifts on museum projects, with the city in between.

Copenhagen
Copenhagen

For a while, I lived outside Copenhagen while working on museum projects. We worked at night, leaving the days for walking around the city. Work and getting to know the place followed two different rhythms.

We went to museums and looked for art. There was Christiania, Copenhagen’s food and the people we met during that stay. We explored the city together between successive nights of work.

My painting Copenhagen shows one of the city’s streets. Dark façades, slender towers and a cool sky meet orange light along the horizon. Its story also includes the days spent away from work: looking at art, discovering the city and meeting people.

I show the painting together with that context. You can look at the whole work and its details, and also find out where the painted view came from and what was happening around it.
