Eye to Eye

An apartment in Prague.

This is a portrait of my muse in an apartment in Prague. The window overlooked the surrounding rooftops and an old courtyard enclosed by tall buildings. Inside were a wooden wardrobe and an enormous wooden bed.

We explored the city and its hidden corners, looking for Prague’s bohemian scene. Our main destinations, though, were the local antique and art shops.

At home, I now have a beautiful Atlantis set from Prague, more than sixty years old, along with a few other finds.

The painted figure meets a piece of paper and a three-dimensional eye. Close-ups reveal its shadow, paint marks and the small signs around the figure.
